Pure Sail - Pure Yacht Charter Experiences in the Azores

Really the best charter company!

I rented Bavaria 41 Hera in June, 2017 for 2 weeks. And these guys are really profesionals! The boat was in perfect conditons with all nessesary equipment on board. By my expirience not every company make so many efforts to prepare the same conditions of charter boats. Check in and briefing before charter was very efficient with many good advices and additional information to make our trip amazing.
I can say exactly, when I return to Azores I'll take a boat in Pure Sail!

Best equipped charter boat in my personal experience

Took over the boat in a perfectly clean and exceptionally well equipped condition. Easy but detailed takeover / checkin with all explanations. Boat almost new, and from tools to dishes, welcome package and beautiful sheets and covers on the bed everything was in best and brandnew condition. Many recommendations were given for marinas, harbours and bays, as well as about fishing and special destinations that should not be missed.
Aside from the perfect boat and service of Pure Sail Yacht Charter, the Azores are really worth a visit: Perfect nature, friendly and helpful people, beautiful landscape and all far away from crowded and over-marketed areas. This is "real sailing", no crowded bays and no traffic on the ocean aside from tons of dolphins, some whales and even a turtle. All in all a perfect holiday, away from "usual pathes" with a touch of adventure in one of the most beautiful places if not the most beautiful area where I have sailed so far. 

The best way to see the Azores

We hired 'Urze' a beautiful 41ft for three days and two nights along with skipper/owner Duarte and had an absolute ball. The boat is almost brand new, well appointed and very comfortable, with three decent berths. It's also well equipped with a decent size saloon and was perfect for explorung the coast of Sao Miguel, including the famous crater island at Vila Franca. Duarte was an accommodating host, passionate about sailing and the Azores, and was especially good and patient with our youngest. He also turned out to be a pretty good chef! We were privileged to sail among at least three pods of dolphins. This is really a great way to see the Azores and its marine life and Pure Sail comes highy recommended.

Amazing one-day sailing trip experience!

Last summer, we've been for a one-day trip at Pure Sail. It was an amazing day. Perfect service, perfect boat, perfect organization. Everything was better than expected. Can fully recommend this tour.

The best charter company !

These guys hit us. Great service. Full support on all issues. Easy to communicate and cheerful people. I often rent yachts and have a good understanding of it. There's a courageous 5! The yacht is in perfect condition. Owners understand how everything is arranged and how the charter passes. If you are considering with whom to go to sea or who to take the ocean for it - you are exactly to them!
Azores is an excellent region for yachting. But you must take into account that this is the ocean and the weather here is changeable. Plan transitions wisely.

Great sailing experience with the best company at the nice Azores islands

Azores islands are very nice with lot of amazing spots for mainly active recreation and wonderful relaxing places. Everything is very close to the nature and less industrialized. The local people are friendly, and there are limited number of tourists (I don't know why). You can find unique thermal spas, wonderful empty beaches and all within the widest variety of green.
The sailboat would give you the opportunity to visit less popular but even more attractive places. The guys would help you with great advises where to go, and what to do on the islands. They can help you with practical tips in sailing if it is required for you.
It is a small company with just a few boats but in very good care. Hera was the most equipped boat what I've ever rented from a charter company.
Everything is clean, and well prepared for you to do this short-mid range trips between the islands.
Do not expect lot of anchoring places, especially for the night but very cheap marinas ans some possible stops to drop the anchor and have some fun.
You will see dolphins and maybe whales!

Be careful, one week is not enough here! :)

Great yacht charter for great sailing holiday.

We spent two weeks sailing around Azores visiting all 9 islands on board of Pure Sails' Bavaria 41 Hera. From the first contact with the guys and the boat we understood this was a special charter company. The boat was absolutely clean, well equipped and the guys clearly loved their job. Well prepared handover covered boat as well as various sailing tips including information about places to visit and potential dangers for the boat. As a nice welcome gift we obtained selection of Azorean products. The checkout was also pleasant and efficient and included several tips for the remainder of our stay in Ponta Delgada. Definitely charter company of choice when you consider sailing in Azores (And if you don't consider sailing in Azores yet, you definitely should)

Fabulous day sailing the pristine Azores Islands

We were two couples who came to Sao Miguel for the first time and wished to charter a boat for a day of sailing around the lovely island. Our hotel recommended Pure Sail and it was amazing. From the moment we met Duarte and Mauro at the pier we were not disappointed. The boat, Hera, was in pristine condition and immaculately clean. We sailed, swam, had yummy sangria, then white wine and a simple but delicious lunch with fresh pineapple for dessert. Duarte and Mauro have such a passion for sailing and it shows in the way they care for their boats, their business and their customers. Mauro even rescued an inexperienced and wayward paddle boarder that came close to crashing in the rocks - Mauro hopped into his dingy and saved the stranger - all with a cheerful smile. I cannot recommend Pure Sail any higher than a 5-star rating. I hope to return to the Azores again and definitely sail with Pure Sail!

Best charter company experience

I’ve been chartering boats around the world since 2010 and these guys do it better than any I’ve seen. Not only are they knowledgeable but they are friendly and they care about you having a good experience. They put the extra effort in that makes all the difference. The boats are meticulously maintained and well stocked. An absolute pleasure to do business with these guys! Azores is the most unique cruising ground, definitely not to be missed!

Abbiamo trascorso una fantastica settimana a bordo di una dufour preparata dal team Pure Sail Azores. La barca a vela era molto pulita, così come la biancheria e dotata di ogni comfort. L’itinerario è stato pianificato in anticipo con i consigli di Mauro del Team Pure Sail Azores tenendo conto delle nostre esigenze e delle tecnicità di navigazione. Siamo partiti da Ponta Delgada e abbiamo raggiunto e visitato le isole Terceira, Pico e Sao Jorge ,incontrato una razza gigante in mezzo all’oceano, una tartaruga ed alcuni delfini. Tutto questo accompagnati da un ottimo skipper Duarte che su nostra richiesta ci ha permesso di partecipare attivamente alle manovre e si è reso disponibile a rispondere ad ogni domanda e curiosità.
Duarte ha reso la vacanza unica, accompagnandoci e mostrandoci luoghi unici che ci resteranno impressi nel cuore. Per il nostro gruppo era la prima vacanza in barca a vela, siamo rimasti entusiasmati ed ha superato le nostre aspettative. Abbiamo navigato in sicurezza affidandoci a professionisti con esperienza e professionalità.
